Salt landscape
It is possible that people passing Gerri de la Sal along the main road today, even looking through the car window, may not realise the existence of the salt beds if they have no prior information on what can be seen there. Just thirty years ago, the production landscape of ponds, beds and sheds of the salt farm were the dominant feature on the landscape. This interactive programme aims to help interpret the industrial landscape of salt, to instruct a little on how to see and understand it. The salt beds of Gerri de la Sal form part of the industrial and cultural heritage that the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia is endeavouring to preserve, study and publicise.
